A Love That Cannot Be Shaken

Teri Klinger
God says that everything not of Him will be shaken. But this is a good promise, because when we yield to Him, He will reveal and remove all fears.

A Love That Cannot Be Shaken

Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29 NASB)

I love God's promises. I believe that we need to focus on these promises. I love how this Scripture denotes that God is getting rid of anything that is not Him. But we still have to choose to yield our lives to Him in order for that to happen.

It is amazing that the more I allow God to prune things that get in the way of my walk with the Him, I see more that needs to go! It becomes almost like an addiction, but this type of addiction brings rewards! I see His love on a deeper level, burning everything that is not of Him, and I want more because there is no other way!

Now here is the Amplified version of Hebrews 12:28-29:

Do you see what we've got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. He's actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn, and he won't quit until it's all cleansed. God Himself is fire! (AMP)

This version reminded me of one thing that I struggled with, as long as I can remember, and that was fear and anxiety. It consumed me. It paralyzed me. It kept me in a place of darkness, and kept me from seeing God's love for me. I would get hives and other illnesses within my body. You see, what happens to us emotionally quite often affects us physically. And fear is a spirit that can we come into agreement with in our minds, and it will keep us from the love of God.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. (1 John 4:18)

Because I empowered this spirit, it was keeping me deceived and unable to receive the love of God! When I found this out, I was angry! That is why I sought the Lord to show me how to stop agreeing with this spirit. He showed me different times in my life where I was rejected, unprotected, and other areas mostly in childhood where I began to fear. I also needed to forgive those who were a direct result of those issues, and chose to no longer partner with that specific fear. I went through different fears to release to the Lord, and each time the different fears were gone once I did these simple steps. But the most awesome part of it all was that the Lord always gave me something in exchange -like peace, confidence, His perfect love and others like that. I was amazed at how I didn't struggle anymore with those fears. I also noticed that I had a deeper desire to spend more and more time with the Lord, because these fears no longer had a foothold in my life. I became bolder with my walk in the Lord, and His love overflowed in and through me!

God wants for us all to be able to walk unshakable, no matter what the circumstances are. And it is all because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). As we experience circumstances in life, we can have the assurance that nothing can shake us, because we have the perfect love of God.

It is time to seek God on everything within us, so that we can be ready in these last days. Believe in His promises, and watch as He moves in your life like never before!

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. (1 John 4:15-17)
