Word for the Day

God's Love Never Fails

Teri Klinger
What does it mean that God's love never fails? How we know? It is all about intimacy. We need this in the coming days in order to stand and not grow weary.!

God's Love Never Fails

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait (or hope in) for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40:28-31) NASB

It is not difficult in these days to become weary-that is, if we are looking just at the world and circumstances around us. I am talking about every day life, keeping ourselves busy even trying to do good things.

Jesus did not become weary when He was on the earth in the flesh. He continually mentioned of going to the Father, only doing what He saw His Father doing, and only saying what He heard His Father say (John 5:19).

So what does that have to do with us? Well, Jesus told us that He died on the cross and His blood was shed to make a new covenant with God. We are now seated with Jesus aside of the Father (Ephesians 2:6). That means we have access to hearing what our Father says and seeing what our Father does, so that we can also say and do the things that He shows and tells us.

A religious spirit at this point could say that is untrue. But check it for yourself-God's Word is living and active and stronger than any two-edged sword. Why do some people pick and choose Scriptures to fit into their beliefs? It is called lack of relationship with the triune Spirit -Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Some can read the Bible and still not have an actual revelation by the Spirit of God because they never really let Him into their heart. God wants us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1-2) because He knew that we needed to seek Him in order to not only understand who we are, but also to understand who the One true living God is. This requires relationship. Relationship requires communication. Communication happens through transmitting and receiving. Did you ever try to start a friendship that only one person spoke? Or to take it a little further, how about a relationship where only one person pursued the friendship with the other? How close do you think that relationship would be?

In the same concept, God pursues us for relationship. If you are born again, at one time you let Him into your heart. But what happened after that? God wants us to pursue Him, spend time with Him, worship Him, read His Word, and sit quietly and listen at times. That requires a discipline to set aside time and just be. God takes this seriously, and because of that He even commanded us to rest in Him (Sabbath). I can tell you from experience that if you make time for Him, He will enter that love relationship with you, that no matter what storms come your way, He will ALWAYS be there with you and bring you peace in the midst. His love NEVER fails.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary (fainting in your souls) and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-2) NASB
